β¨ The heart behind this work

Ann Marie Mackey is the founder of Ann Marie Mackey Well-Being.
She is a registered naturopath, certified somatic therapist and seasoned corporate leader. Ann Marie has a rare blend of strategic expertise, holistic credentials, profound live experience and personal transformation.
Ann Marie works with those who are tired of holding it all together on the outside while quietly unravelling within. Her clients often reach a point where success no longer feels satisfying and survival no longer feels sustainable. They're ready for something more real, grounded and connected to who they truly are.
Her work bridges science, spirit and strategy to create deep, lasting transformation. Whether guiding high-performers, mentoring change-makers or holding space for those navigating loss, transition or personal reinvention, Ann Marie meets people at the edge of whatβs no longer working and walks with them toward clarity, resilience and strength that lasts.
Ann Marieβs approach is shaped not just by her training but by her own lived experience of loss, resilience and rediscovery. After the devastating loss of her son, she made a vow not just to survive but to Rock Her Life.
That commitment now fuels her mission: to help others release whatβs heavy, reconnect with what matters and rise into lives that feel real, empowered and deeply their own.

A world where love guides every choice,
where peace defines success,
healing is supported,
justice looks like restoration,
and thriving is the standard,
so we rise together as one global family.

To help people come home to who they really are.
I guide those carrying stress, grief or shame to let go of whatβs no longer theirs to hold, regulate their nervous systems and rise into a life aligned with truth, purpose and peace.
Through somatic healing, strategic support and compassionate honesty, grounded in experiences, I walk beside leaders, changemakers and quiet survivors ready to stop carrying it all alone and finally live free, strong and fully themselves.

"Weeks before I became pregnant with my son, I got a small butterfly tattoo on my shoulder, on instinct, never realizing just how much it would come to mean. I was eighteen, searching and carrying more than I knew how to hold.
Eighteen years later, my son died suddenly. His life cut short by an unthinkable and preventable tragedy. I had that same butterfly etched onto his headstone and later tattooed a second one beside the first, one for me, one for him.
I didnβt choose the butterfly.
It chose me.
It landed on my shoulder and stayed a quiet witness to everything I would live, lose and become. π¦
To me, the butterfly represents the sacred process of transformation. Of being cracked open by life, letting go of who we were and rising again; slowly, tenderly, powerfully.
It reminds me of my son, of healing and of the unseen strength that carries us through.
Itβs my quiet promise: that beauty can come from pain, that flight can follow stillness and that weβre allowed to become more than what tried to break us."
"For as long as I can remember, I've been drawn to adventure, nature, movement and fiercely staying true to myself.
I grew up in the rugged beauty of St. Johnβs, Newfoundland, where open skies, wind-swept trails and rocky shorelines shaped my love of nature and taught me to meet lifeβs challenges head-on.
Most of my childhood was spent outdoors: hiking, biking, swimming, skiing, building snow forts and climbing trees with my dad, who passed down his deep love of the land. Those wild landscapes became my first teachers, helping me build resilience, find calm and feel at home in my body. They also laid the foundation for a way of living and healing Iβd return to again and again.
From Corporate Success to Personal Rupture
After graduating with honours in Computer Studies, I moved to Alberta as a young single mom. Over the next 11 years, I built a successful corporate career across multiple provinces and industries, including IT, energy, transportation and education. I ended up in Calgary, leading complex projects and droving high-performance outcomes in male-dominated fields, fueled by excellence, grit and vision.
And then, my life shattered.
On December 1, 2009, my beautiful 18-year-old son died suddenly - his life cut short by a preventable tragedy.
As I sat with the police after receiving the news, everything inside me broke.
But in the midst of that unimaginable darkness, I heard his voice, clear, calm and certain say:
βMom, you are free.β
In that moment, I knew his life would not be wasted and his death would not take me down. I was given a purpose:
I would heal, live and help others do the same.
From that moment on, I made a vow.
In honour of my son and the love that still lives:
I chose to live.
I chose to heal.
And Iβve been walking that path ever since.
There is no roadmap for that kind of grief.
It cracked me open, revealing not only unbearable pain but also decades of stored stress, survival patterns and unhealed wounds.
No matter how broken I felt, I was determined to rebuild, fully and fiercely, and be free.
Returning Home
I left Calgary in 2011, moved back home to Newfoundland and tried to stay grounded in what I knew, my corporate career. In 2012, I founded QI Consulting Ltd., a business consulting firm advising on quality and program management. Through that work, I brought strategic leadership to organizations across various industries, while quietly doing my own healing work.
But my old ways of coping, with distractions, perfectionism or surface-level fixes, no longer worked.
A Lifetime of Rising
While losing my son was the most devastating chapter of my life, it wasnβt the only one.
Like so many of us, Iβve faced lifeβs messiest and most humbling moments.
For me, it started at my very beginning. Adopted as a baby, I came into the world already experiencing grief and loss, searching for safety and belonging. That quiet search shaped much of my early life, showing up in school struggles, identity questions and a longing to feel at home in the world.
Over the years, I became a teenage mom, endured relationship breakdowns, lost pregnancies, faced serious health issues, job upheaval and more than twenty moves for work - all while navigating the ongoing question of who I was becoming.
For years, I searched for love, safety and belonging in all the wrong places, trying to prove I was okay, even when I wasnβt. At the heart of it, I was trying to prove I was worthy.
These experiences didnβt just shape me. They stripped me bare and helped me rise with more compassion, grit and truth than I ever thought possible.
Iβve come to believe that everything Iβve lived through was part of the school of life; preparing me to hold space for others, humbly and compassionately, in their own moments of change, heartbreak and reinvention.
Iβve lived it. I can hold it. And Iβll walk with you through it.
The Healing Path That Found Me
What began as a desperate search for relief from my grief became a calling.
I was open to help from anywhere and dove into mind-body practices and trauma-informed therapies alike. I did the deep work: receiving therapy, healing old wounds and learning how to live in a new way.
Along the way, I learned that talk therapy alone isnβt always enough. I've learned the body keeps the score and true healing requires more than just understanding our pain. It requires feeling it, releasing it and learning how to come home to ourselves again.
I trained extensively in somatic therapy, nervous system regulation, grief-informed practices, yoga, breathwork, flexibility, EMDR and more. I drew deeply on both personal and professional experience merging the structured mindset of leadership with the transformational power of embodied healing.
Over time, I accumulated hundreds of hours in holistic training and eventually became a registered naturopath.
I discovered: Healing isnβt about fixing whatβs wrong. Itβs about returning to whatβs real.
The Work I do Today
I now work with executives, high performers and purpose-led people who are quietly carrying too much and are ready to stop pretending theyβre fine. Many are navigating burnout, loss, big transitions or that deep, nagging sense that something needs to change.
Through somatic therapy, mind clearing and evidence-informed practices, I help my clients reset their nervous systems, release the emotional and mental weight theyβve been carrying and reconnect with their true selves.
Whether Iβm working privately 1:1, leading group programs, delivering keynotes or retreats, the goal is always the same:
To help you feel strong, clear and grounded in a life that actually feels like yours.
A Message From My Heart to Yours
I believe we can heal, not by bypassing whatβs hard, but by turning toward it with courage, compassion and the right support.
If youβre tired of carrying it all alone, Iβd be honoured to walk with you.
Healing isnβt about becoming someone new.
Itβs about returning to whatβs real and remembering that you were always enough.
With peace, love and gratitude,
Ann Marie"
P.S. Donβt hide in shame. Every part of your story belongs to your becoming.
