What made this program transformative was how it guided me to look inward and truly examine the expectations I was carrying within myself. Through mindful exploration, I began to recognize the countless “shoulds” that had been quietly directing my life - expectations from work, home life, and deeply ingrained societal beliefs that I had never questioned.

The real breakthrough came when I started examining whether these expectations were actually accurate or fair. For the first time, I asked myself: whose beliefs were these really? Were they mine, or had I absorbed them from others? I realized that many of the burdens I placed on myself were ones I would never dream of placing on another person. This led to the powerful question: if I wouldn’t expect this of others, why was I still holding onto these expectations for myself?

I discovered that some of these beliefs had become shields - ways to protect myself from potential judgment by others. But the program helped me see that rather than protecting me, they were exhausting me and preventing me from truly thriving.

I know I still have work to do, however Ann Marie and the program have given me the tools to distinguish between expectations that serve me and those that simply weigh me down. I now feel significantly lighter and I’m making decisions based on what truly aligns with me rather than what I think I “should” do.
